Page turner books I loved this summer and think you would love too

Hate to admit it, but reading books is kind of my personality. So when I come across books that keeps me up at night despite my 9 to 5 , I WILL recommend it.

Here’s a seasonal wrap-up of books that made me giggle, sob, and whisper to myself like a crazy madman –

Page Turner Rating : 3/5

I don’t often read romance, so if one sneaked and made it to the list, that means it was THAT GOOD.

Why I loved it –

  • The whole sports world dynamic felt fresh and not cringe
  • It connects beautifully with the other books in the series. Makes you feel that you’re a part of their big family as well.
  • How real the characters and their troubles were, and how every detail about the characters affected their decisions. The relation development was raw and scenic at the same time

If you’re a “romance only when it’s actually worth it” reader like me, this one passes the vibe check.

Another one from the Windy City series. And oh my god, this one had me giggling at 1 AM like I was reading Wattpad again, but with better writing.

Why I loved it –

  • Had to close the book mid chapters to mutter to myself “Just get together, dammit”
  • It showed characters with real responsibilities that drove their actions, decisions and basically how the book would turn out in the end
  • Ending was predictable, but the kind that you’re hoping for rather than dreading.
  • You fall in love with the characters and their relations

Predictable in a comforting way, and definitely a must have in your shelves for when you’re feeling a little less of love in the world.

If you’re a regular here, you know how much I love crime/murder mystery thrillers as much as the next unhinged girl. So, it only made sense that this book was featured here

Why I loved it –

  • The characters are so well written in the least obvious way. You hate the ones you’re supposed to hate without even knowing.
  • Story line is immersive af. Feels like you’re a part of the story rather than just a reader.
  • Does not drag or gets too dialog-y which is often a risk with mysteries. Narration is well paced and top-notch.
  • The twist is jaw dropping.

WARNING: Do NOT watch the Netflix series before reading the book. You’ll ruin it for yourself.

Sequel to AGGGTM and does not feel like a forced part 2. This was a natural next step.

Why I loved it –

  • Connection to part 1 feels earned and not like a cash-earner. It was mapped and well-thought of which I love in a writer.
  • The twist was predictable by the last few chapters, but it was still cold and heart-wrenching enough to make a big girl like me cry.
  • The characters felt like neighbors now and reading the book felt like a walk through a familiar town. Amazing story building.

(And yes, the third book will come in my next wrap-up. Stay tuned.)

Page Turner Rating : 5/5

Honestly, I am angry that no one recommended this book sooner. If you’re a psychological thriller fan, this one is a must read.

Why I loved it –

  • The premise? Exquisite. The pacing? Absolutely on point. The twist? Didn’t see it coming in a million years.
  • A fresh idea and curated extremely well. Did not even feel fiction as much as written from history.
  • Soooo creepy. Everything you’ll want in a psychological thriller.

Straight to my “Read again and again” shelf.

These were some of the 5 books that kept me company these past few months. And trust me, they won’t disappoint you if you want to add them to your list too.

Now tell me: what did you read this season that made you feel something? Drop it in the comments — I’m always hunting for my next obsession.
